Does Golden Age ship wine directly to consumers?

Currently we can ship directly to consumers who reside in Florida, Washington D.C., and Alaska. State laws limit where we are able to ship alcohol, and at this time we can ship out of state only to these three locations. If you have any questions regarding out-of-state shipping, please feel free to email us at orders@goldenagewine.com.

Why doesn’t Golden Age ship to consumers in Alabama?

By law, the state of Alabama does not allow shipments of alcohol from retailers directly to its residents. 

Does Golden Age offer local wine delivery?

In partnership with Shipt, we offer same-day delivery to addresses in the following zip codes: 

35068, 35203, 35204, 35206, 35207, 35208, 35209, 35210, 35212, 35213, 35216, 35214, 35217, 35218, 35222, 35223, 35224, 35226, 35233, 35234, 35242, 35243, 35244, and 35211. 

If your delivery address is outside of these zip codes, you may not be eligible for local delivery. 

If you wish to order for same-day local delivery, please visit our website to place your order online, select the “Shipping / Local Delivery” option at checkout, and enter an eligible delivery address. Please be sure to select a one-hour delivery window after payment, as a person over 21 is required to be present at the time of delivery with a valid ID. Alternatively, give us a call at 205.848.8877 and we’d be happy to take your order and organize delivery over the phone. We accept orders for delivery around the clock and windows are available from 12pm – 8pm, Monday - Saturday. The order must be placed at least 60 minutes before the scheduled delivery window.

How much does shipping and local delivery cost?

Shipping rates are variable and can be calculated based on carrier rates depending on the weight and dimensions of the package and the distance shipped.

We offer a $10.99 flat-rate delivery fee for all local delivery orders. 

When can I expect to receive my order?

Shipment time depends on your location. You can expect to receive your shipment within 3-7 business days of the order leaving our premises. As soon as it is picked up by the carrier, you will receive a shipping notification with tracking information.

Local delivery can be scheduled for same-day arrival in any of our eligible zip codes. Delivery windows are available from 12PM - 8PM, Monday through Saturday.

Does someone need to be home at the time of delivery?

Yes – for both shipping and local delivery someone over the age of 21 will need to be home at the time of delivery to present a valid ID and sign for the package. If no one is home or if no one in the household at the time is over 21, the package will be returned to sender and re-shipments may incur additional fees.

We are able to ship and deliver to work addresses in eligible locations, and if you have more regular availability here this may be a good option for you.

Can I change my shipping/delivery date?

If you’d like to change your shipping/delivery date, please call us at 205.848.8877 or email us at info@goldenagewine.com. A phone call is preferred. If we are not made aware of the change in a timely manner, additional fees may apply for re-shipment.

Can you hold my order?

We are able to hold orders on premise during seasonal weather extremes on a case-by-case basis. Please call us at 205.848.8877 or email us at info@goldenagewine.com to organize a hold and arrange future shipment. 

Do you offer cold-chain shipping?

We do not currently offer a cold-chain shipping option. If you are concerned about shipping conditions or temperature damage, we do offer expedited shipping at an additional cost. Please email us at info@goldenagewine.com with any questions or concerns regarding temperature-controlled shipping.

What if there is a problem with the wine that I received from Golden Age via shipping or delivery?

If there is a problem with the wine that you received from Golden Age or it was damaged during shipping, please email us at info@goldenagewine.com and we will respond to you promptly.

Can Golden Age ship non-alcoholic merchandise?

Yes, we are able to ship any of our non-alcoholic merchandise across the country for the appropriate shipping fee.
